Art Del Cueto served with the United States Border Patrol from July 2003 to December 2024. He began his career in Casa Grande, Arizona, where he contributed to the establishment of a new substation in Three Points, Arizona.
For the majority of his career, Mr. Del Cueto patrolled the Tohono O’odham reservation, playing a critical role in numerous drug and smuggling investigations. A fluent Spanish speaker, he frequently led the questioning of apprehended individuals. In addition to his patrol duties, he represented bargaining unit members and responded to more than 90 percent of significant incidents in the Tucson Sector, including shootings, accidents, and assaults on agents.
Mr. Del Cueto served in elected leadership positions for over a decade, advocating for agents at both the sector and national levels. Prior to joining the Border Patrol, he worked at a maximum-security state prison in Tucson.
Originally from Mexico, Mr. Del Cueto was raised in Douglas, Arizona, where he spent his entire childhood living on the border. Having lived most of his life in Arizona, he brings a deeply personal understanding of the challenges and realities of life along the U.S.–Mexico border.
In his leadership role, Mr. Del Cueto became a national spokesperson for Border Patrol agents, regularly engaging with policymakers and the public on matters of border security. He has spoken at rallies alongside President Trump, attended multiple meetings at the White House, and testified before Congress on issues affecting national security and frontline agents.
Mr. Del Cueto has been featured on major media outlets including Fox News, CNN, Telemundo, Univision, Al Jazeera, and HBO’s VICE. He is also a frequent guest on radio shows and podcasts worldwide. Additionally, he serves as an advisor to the Federation for American Immigration Reform and sits on the board of advisors for Law Enforcement Today.
